The Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) and the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MESRI), in collaboration with the French Academy of Sciences, are pleased to announce the awarding of a prize - Skłodowska//Curie Award - as a constituent part of the French-Polish Year of Science taking place in 2019.

The call for nominations is open from the 19th July 2019 until the 30th September 2019. The results and the award ceremony will complete the French-Polish Year of Science, at the end of 2019.

The aim of the award is to emphasize the benefits of the scientific cooperation between French and Polish researchers. It will reward an outstanding pair of scientists - one doing research in Poland, the other one in France - for their joint research achievements that result in a strengthened scientific cooperation between the two countries.

The award is based on nominations, including self-nominations. All active members of the Polish and French scientific communities can nominate a pair of candidates. The nominations can cover all sciences and all fields of research.

The prize consists of 15 000 euro for each of the two laureates, 5 000 euro as an individual prize and 10 000 euro as a grant for continuing the scientific cooperation.

Each nomination shall refer jointly to both researchers (one working in Poland and one working in France), having both at least a doctoral degree, regardless of their nationality.

Nominations should contain the following :

  • Acknowledgement of the scientific achievements made jointly by the two candidates resulting in a strengthened scientific cooperation between Poland and France (maximum 5000 characters)
  • Proposition of joint research for the near future (maximum 3000 characters)
  • Curricula vitae of both scientists and the list of their publications relevant to the joint achievements
  • One letter of support from a pair of the nominees (in case of self-nominations, two letters of support).

Nominations shall be submitted in English in electronic version via an online database https://wnioski.fnp.org.pl

The selection of the laureates is carried out by a joint French-Polish committee established by the Foundation for Polish Science and French Academy of Sciences.
