<p>Interview with Francesca Distefano (Gender and Policy Expert, FAO) and Rosa Rolle (Agro-food industries and food loss and waste reduction Team Leader, FAO).</p>
<p>The first expert presents her views first about how change can happen in gender inequalities, which are important all the food system. For change to happen in a relatively short time, the engagement of all the food system’s actors and beyond is needed.</p>
<p>Although there is no “one fit all” solutions, she describes a few fundamental elements that should be part of any “gender for nutrition” intervention. Evidences and experiences exist, but a lot still needs to be done in order to build better functioning, inclusive and healthier food systems to achieve food and nutrition security for all.</p>
<p>Rosa Rolle (Agro-food industries and food loss and waste reduction Team Leader, FAO) tackles the food loss and waste issues : reducing Food Loss and Waste can strengthen food systems and benefit society as a whole through improving food security and nutrition; reducing greenhouse gas emissions, lowering the pressure on land and water resources; and increasing productivity and economic growth.</p>
